Key Principles of Our Approach
  • Child-Centred Learning - We view children as active participants in their own learning. Our curriculum is responsive to their interests, allowing them to explore and investigate topics that intrigue them.

  • The Prepared Environment - We create carefully designed learning environments that are beautiful, stimulating, and accessible to children. These spaces are thoughtfully arranged to encourage independence and exploration.

  • Documentation and Reflection - We believe in the power of documentation to make learning visible. Through photographs, artwork, and written observations, we capture the journey of each child's learning and encourage reflection

  • Freedom Within Limits - Children are given the freedom to choose their activities, free flow through our nursery and gargen, explore materials, and work at their own pace.

  • Nature and Sustainability - We emphasise a strong connection to nature and promote environmental consciousness. Children have opportunities to explore the natural world, and we strive to teach them the importance of sustainability and care for the environment.

  • Collaboration and Community - Our nursery is a community of learners, where collaboration between children, parents, and educators is encouraged. We value open communication and partnerships with families to support each child's development.

  • Supporting Children with SEN - We are committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive environment for children with Special Educational Needs. We believe every child deserves an opportunity to thrive, so we tailor our approach to each child's individual needs and abilities. Our staff are trained in recognising and supporting diverse learning styles and our SEN Co-ordinator collaborates closely with families and specialists

  • Food and Drink - our in house chef prepares balanced, fresh and nutritious meals for all of our children taking into account all dietry requirements and allergies. Drinking water is always available for children and we encourage all children to bring in their own water bottle if they prefer

  • Staffing - we always follow EYFS guidlines in regards to staff to child ratios. We operate with a full time manager, deputy manger/s and a range of qualified and unqualified practitioners and forest school leaders. All children are allocated a key person which is shared with parents during the child's induction/transition of rooms
